Mexican automotive industry anticipated to fall in 2020 because of Coronavirus


(MENAFN) On Tuesday October 6 the Mexican Automotive Industry Association (AMIA) stated that Mexican vehicle manufacture and exports could see a fall of 24-28 percent in 2020 as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Fausto Cuevas director general of AMIA stated in a virtual press conference that "The effect of the pandemic on the automotive industry's expected end-of-year results is evident,".

Cuevas stated that "Our perspective is that production and export volumes are between 24 to 28 percent lower than what was achieved in 2019,".

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) lately accounted that Mexico's light vehicle manufacture fell 5.48 percent yearly in September, whereas exports cut down 13.06 percent.
