Forest fires erupt in mid Argentina

(MENAFN) On Tuesday September 22 the local government has stated that four forest fires erupt in the central Argentine province of Cordoba, where a number of 400 firefighters reversed by planes and helicopters were functioning to place them out.

The fires erupted in the cities of Villa Carlos Paz, Los Morteritos, Cuchi Corral and Unquillo.

Cordoba's government stated that drafts of up and about to 45 km per hour made it difficult to fight the flames "in affected areas that are difficult to access," as well as elevated heat.

Juan Cabandie Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development stated that the blazes, like others in other parts of the country, "are intentional" in "95 percent" of containers.
