Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa summons newly elected parliament to meet on August 20
(MENAFN- NewsIn.Asia) Colombo, August 4 (newsin.asia) Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has summoned the newly-elected parliament to meet on August 20, 2020 (Thursday) following the General Election to be held on August 5.
The President made this decision under the powers vested in him by the Constitution of Sri Lanka and the Parliamentary Election Act. The Extraordinary Gazette notification announcing the summoning of the new Parliament was issued on the night of August 3, the Presidential Media Unit said in a release.
