COVID-19 claims 2 more lives in Palestine, death toll reaches 39


(MENAFN) The combined figure of lives that have been claimed due to the merciless pandemic of coronavirus in Palestine has amounted to 39, as two more fatalities were confirmed over the past 24 hours ending on Monday in the West Bank district of Hebron, the country"s Health Ministry revealed in a statement.

Based on a confirmation made in an emailed press statement, the two deaths included two women aged 65 and 71.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Milhem, spokesman of the Palestinian government, told a news briefing in Ramallah on Sunday that the government decided to extend the lockdown and tighten precautionary measures in the West Bank.

According to a statement issued by the state"s Health Ministry, the total number of patients who have survived their infection and been accordingly discharged from hospitals amounted to 5,761, whereas the tally of those who were reported as receiving health care at the country's hospitals stands now at 5,761.
