Palestine reports total of 310 COVID-19 cases across all territories

(MENAFNThe overall figure of patients who have so far tested positive across East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza Strip has amounted to 310 by Monday eve, according to a confirmation made a senior Palestinian spokesman.

On Monday, two more patients have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, while the total figure of recoveries has jumped to 58 across Palestine, reporters quoted Ibrahim Melhem, the official for the Palestinian government as declaring at a press conference.

Based on a statement of the interior ministry, nearly 300 Palestinian locals in the Gaza Strip have been subjected to a compulsory 14-day quarantine period as they arrived back to their homes from Egypt through Rafah Crossing.

After they have been trapped in Egypt following the national closure of borders amid COVID-19 fears, hundreds of Gazan citizens were able to return back to the Strip as Rafah Crossing has been reopened by Egyptian authorities as of Monday to Thursday, according to the Palestinian ministry.
