Qatar- AMU Alumni organises event for new members

Alumni Association Qatar of Aligarh Muslim University of India (AMU) organised a get-together at MIA Park on January 3 to welcome the new members and socialising the ‘aligs' at one platform. 


Dr Syed Muneer Husain Jaffery, President of AMU Alumni Qatar, welcomed new members to the association. Zeyaul Haq, General Secretary of the association, introduced the new members to all. 


Shahid Yar Khan, Ali Imran, Sarwar Mirza Beg, Ziauddin Ahmad, Mosheer Alam, Asif Khan, Qamar Alam, Kareem, Jawed Sultan and Mohd Ahmed welcomed all the new members and gave general guidelines about the regulations in Qatar.  On the occasion, chief patron of the association M S Bukhari applauded the executives and presented the mementos to honour two special guests from AMU, namely Dr. Rahat Abrar, Director Urdu Academy and former PRO at AMU, and Ashkar Husain, Senior PGT teacher at AMU.


All the members discussed about the current situation at AMU and ideas to upgrade the educational needs of the society. More than 120 people including women and children attended the function. 


AMU Alumni Association was established in 2003 and it operates as a non-political, non-profitable and a secular organisation serving educational, social, literacy and cultural needs of the community.
