Qatar Calls For Ramadan Crescent Sighting On February 17

Doha, Qatar: The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has called upon all Muslims in the State of Qatar to observe the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
In a statement, the committee urged that whoever sights the crescent visit its headquarters located at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs building in the Dafna Towers to provide their testimony.
The committee will hold its meeting immediately after the Maghrib (sunset) prayer.
