Georgian consulates to open in San Francisco and Bari

A consulate of Georgia will open in Italian city of Bari and in American city of San Francisco, said Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Ninua,Trendreports citing Georgian media outlets.

He made the remarks at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the parliament.

'In Bari, there is a very large concentration of our citizens and there are acute problems, so it is necessary to provide them with our consular services,' said Ninua.

Currently, Georgia has two representative offices in Italy including an embassy in Rome and a consulate in Milan.

By the end of the year, the embassy of Georgia will open in the United Arab Emirates. According to the ministry, the UAE is one of the most important investors in Georgia.

In 2020, the Georgian embassy may open in Vietnam as well as in West Africa, in either Senegal or Ghana, said the deputy minister.
