Doha: After captivating more than 35 million people around the world, Blue Man Group is set to stage its debut performance in Doha next month as part of the ongoing Summer in Qatar (SiQ) programme, Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) has announced.
For the first time in Doha, the highly popular group will be staging shows from August 14 to 17 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) as part of its ongoing world tour. This acclaimed theatrical phenomenon will see the three bald and blue artistes surprise the audience with their out-of-the-box acts combining music, art and comedy with stories, custom-made instruments and stunning sensory graphics in a series of shows presented by QNTC in partnership with Alchemy Project.
Formed in 1987, this performance art company has featured in shows in the US and all over Europe and currently has residencies in New York, Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston, Chicago and Berlin. It has appeared many times on hit shows such as America's Got Talent, Dancing with the Stars, The Tonight Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Known for its universal appeal to a wide range of age groups and cultural backgrounds, the group has created a big impact on the entertainment industry through developing new and unique brand of shows covering a broad array of themes. It has also produced several albums and won a number of awards.

The Blue Man show is one of the series of concerts, comedy shows, movie awards, family shows and film screenings being organised as part of SiQ with entertainment as one of the major features of this year's festival.
Other exciting shows to look forward to include the Bollywood Music Festival on June 21, Smurfs Live on July 18 to 20, Hello Kitty Live on July 25 to 27, Marshmello concert on July 25, and Kadim Al Saher concert on August 16 and 17, among others.
This year's summer festival also features shopping, hospitality and flight offers and promotions; the Summer Entertainment City; mall shows and activities; summer camps, and other community engagement activities organised as part of QNTC's strategy to enrich and diversify the country's tourism offering, particularly in the area of family and urban entertainment in collaboration with the private and public sector.
