Egypt Pres. commends African development


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, May 25 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi said on Saturday Africa is taking steady steps towards sustainable development based on its ambitious development plan (Agenda 2063).
Al-Sisi, who is the current president of the African Union, made the remark on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the African bloc.
He spoke highly of the joint efforts of African countries to find solutions to the continent's long-standing conflicts and problems, calling for capitalizing on the private sector.
Al-Sisi underlined the significance of encouraging the execution of continental projects to overhaul the African infrastructure system, thus contributing to the completion of regional economic integration.
The Egyptian president emphasized that it is significant to ensure African unity in order to fulfill the expectations and hopes of the continent's people for a stable and prosperous continent.
He concluded by saying that Africa is willing to cooperate with international partners, including governments, organizations, businesses and finance agencies, in a cooperative framework and sustainable partnerships that ensure mutual interests in general and safeguard stability. (end)
