900m cyber attacks thwarted in Oman


(MENAFN) Oman's Information Technology Authority (ITA) announced the GCC nation to have foiled over 900 million cyber attack attempts in 2018.

Last year, 901,569,883 malware attacks on government networks were prevented by the Oman National Computer Emergency Readiness Team (OCERT).

In a report, the ITA confirmed the Omani private space to have been at risk of 1,726,990,120 cyber attacks before being thwarted.

ITA further underlined the necessity of creating reinforced and safe digital infrastructure to steer clear of such risks.
