Lebanese MP lauds Kuwait support of Arab, Muslim issues

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) By Mustafa Al-Marini RABAT, March 15 (KUNA) -- Lebanese Parliament Member Dr. Kassem Hachem lauded Kuwaiti National Assembly's "strong" and "active" presence at regional and international parliamentary arenas in defending Arab and Muslim issues.

Hachem made his remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of his participation at the 14th conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's Member States (PUIC), which concluded on Thursday.

He said the Kuwaiti parliament has an influential role in supporting Arab and Muslim issues, describing it as the "closest" to express the will of Arab people and most "biased" towards attaining their aspirations and protecting their interests.

Furthermore, the Lebanese MP praised National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim's supportive stands in favor of Arab and Muslim nation issues, particularly during the Geneva Conference and other regional and international parliamentary forums and events.

Muslim nations face difficult challenges that require their parliaments to rise above their current level and embody their people's aspirations in justice, freedom, and dignity, stressed Hachem. (end) mry.ma
