Bollywood's ongoing #MeToo movement has given courage to several women, like Vinta Nanda, Shweta Pandit, Sandhya Mridul, to share their traumatic stories.
Now, Alia Bhatt's mother Soni Razdan has opened up on the burning issue and revealed that she too had a #MeToo moment.
In her interview to The Quint, Soni shared her story and why she kept silent for so long.
Someone tried to rape me during shooting, says Soni
Soni's #MeToo
Sharing her views on #MeToo, Soni called herself lucky for escaping of sexual harassment.
However, she shared a horrifying incident and said that someone tried to rape her during a film's shooting.
"Like there was an incident that happened to me when I was on a film shoot and somebody tried to rape me. Luckily they didn't succeed," Soni said.

Despite the terrifying incident, Soni didn't raise her voice against the predator.
Explaining her reasons, the veteran actress said that she didn't want his family to suffer for his deeds.
"It sounds really odd maybe but I realized if I would have opened my mouth that person would have gone through a lot of problems. He had a family, small children," Soni asserted.
Silence doesn't mean shame, Soni clarified
Soni's clarification
Post her statement, one is forced to wonder if Soni is ashamed of what happened. That's not true, though.
Soni clarified with a strong statement that silence doesn't always mean shame.
"I did not not talk about it because of any shame or anything like that. I felt that I would be hurting his family, whom I knew," she added.

The #MeToo movement recently exposed Bollywood's 'sanskari babuji' Alok Nath, and as it turns out even Soni had an unpleasant encounter with him.
Talking about the same, Soni said she saw him behave lecherously after getting drunk.
She added, "I wouldn't say he made a pass at me but I didn't like the way he was looking at me".
