Oman- First day of Muharram declared holiday


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- H E Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court and Chairman of the Civil Service Council, issued a decision on Monday regarding a holiday on the occasion of the Holy Prophet's Hijra Anniversary and the advent of the New Hijri year 1440 AH.

According to the decision, to mark the occasion, the first day of Muharram 1440 AH will be an official holiday for employees of ministries, public authorities and other departments of the State's Administrative Apparatus. Muharram moon sighting will be declared by the concernedauthorities.On the occasion, the Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court congratulated His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect His Majesty the Sultan, grant him good health, happiness and a long life and for the return of this and similar occasions on His Majesty the Sultan for many years to come. He also wished the Omani people and the country further progress and welfare under His Majesty the Sultan's wise leadership, and all Muslims blessings and welfare.
