Business Week commences at SQU
Each year, the Business Week highlights a specific topic to discuss and study. This year, the chosen theme is 'diversifying sources of income in Oman'. This topic is divided into six main economic aspects, the industrial economy, tourism economy, knowledge-based economy, technological economy, political economy and logistics economy.
The aim of the event is to give students the opportunity to share their thoughts and recommendations and conduct studies in order to find new ways to manage the economy. The Business Week targets a large audience of students, academic supervisors, international CEOs, people with authorities and those interested in the business field. The activities of the event seek to develop the practical skills of the students in handling certain real life problems and give students the opportunity to share their thoughts, recommendations and solutions in their related field of study.Dr Saeed Mubarak al Muharrami, dean of the College of Economics & Political Science, underscored the young generation's role in contributing to the economic diversification of the sultanate and urged the students to seriously study the issue and come up with innovative and practical ideas for diversifying the nation's economy for positive outcomes. The event includes an exhibition displaying strategies for economic diversification, workshops on project management and finance and technology etc and will continue till February 22.
