King, Queen take part in France's solidarity march


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah took part in Paris, along with world leaders, and senior figures in the solidairty march to condemn the recent terrorist attacks in Paris and voice solidarity with the French people and their leadership.

The King's participation which came upon an invitation by French President Francois Hollande, comes within the continued Royal efforts to present the true image of Islam and its noble principles that are based on moderation, tolerance and the rejection of terrorism and extremism.

The King's participation also reflects major efforts exerted by Jordan in cooperation with regional and world powers to counter the threats of terrorism and extremism that do not exclude anyone.

It also reflects condemnation of extremism and terrorism that kill thousands of innocent Muslims and non Muslims in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Nigeria and other countries.

Immediately after their arrival in Paris, Their Majesties and world leaders gathered at the Eliysee Palace in a brief solidarity meeting with the French president before heading to Republique Square to participate in the solidarity march with the French people.

During his participation in the March, King Abdullah voiced to President Hollande his strong condemnation of these terrorist acts which affirm that the threats of terrorism target all without exception and requires intensive international efforts to counter it to maintain world peace and security .

The King was accompanied by the Royal Court chief and the Minister of foreign affairs and expatriate affairs.
