Oman will probably establish LNG import terminal

(MENAFN) Oman's undersecretary of the Oil and gas Ministry, Nasser bin Khamis Jashmi, said that in order to handle the country's shortage in fuel used for industry and power generation, the government might probably establish a liquefied Natural gas (LNG) import terminal, reported Times of Oman. Jashmi added that most of the country's gas reserves were deep and tight which made it expensive for the country to extract. He also said that Oman was in talks with other countries to raise gas imports, adding that the government planned to develop its deposits of natural gas. It is worth noting that in 2010, Oman exported around 11.5 billion cubic meters of LNG.
