UAE- Dar Al Ber Society bears medical expense of 100 poor patients

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dar Al Ber Society in a bid to mark the centennial or 100th birthday anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed, has started covering a big part of the expenses of 100 low-income patients.

The drive, being done in collaboration with the Saqr hospital and a number of health institutions and civil society entities here in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, spans an array of diseases.

Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, director of Dar Al Ber branch in Ras Al Khaimah, said the initiative, launched in the holy month of Ramadan, has already covered 55 patients which includes 55 at the Saqr hospital and 30 children at the RAK autism centre.

The remaining 45 low-income patients are to be covered by the end of this year, he added.

"The promising charity programme is aimed to bring happiness to the disadvantaged patients, including expatriates, across the UAE."

A cash allowance and a gift were presented to each patient, he said.
Mohammed I., a patient hospitalised at the Saqr hospital, said the financial support he received from Dar Al Ber was a good gift in Ramadan.

"It did make me happy and ease my medical and financial suffering."

The society, as part of its diverse medical and health programmes, had earlier announced the contribution of Dh10 million, to indigent dialysis patients in Dubai.
