Samsung develops new ultrasound image processing engine


(MENAFN) Samsung Electronics Co. said it has developed a new ultrasound image processing engine with its medical instrument arm Samsung Medison Co. that can be utilized to deliver more accurate diagnosis of fetuses.

The company said the new solution, CrystalLive, uses the latest image processing technologies to deliver three-dimensional pictures of various organs or of fetuses.

According to it, mothers will receive vivid images of their babies to build intimacy and that doctors can improve the accuracy of diagnoses by detecting potential congenital diseases.

The ultrasound device WS80A will use the CrystalLive engine and will be released in South Korea, Europe and the United States on Tuesday, and will be available to other markets around the globe, although the scheduling will depend on approval from local authorities.
