Pakistan welcomes Afghan top security adviser on security talks

(MENAFN) Pakistan was revealed to have received Afghanistan's National Security Adviser Mohammad Hanif Atmar for his visit to discuss security matters.

The visit has come on the invitation of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, aiming to hold more talks on matters that were discussed a month ago in Kabul with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

The Afghan national security adviser was said to be set for a meeting with Pakistani counterpart Nasir Janjua along with Pakistan's Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The visit has come following an agreement between both countries on a comprehensive bilateral mechanism for talks on critical areas.
