KUWAIT CITY, May 24: The payment of incentive bonus to employees in Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries will start on June 3, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source from the oil sector.
The source revealed that the maximum amount of incentive bonus for 60 percent of the employees – about 13,000 – will be three times of their basic salary. The source explained the disbursement of incentive bonus is subject to the annual evaluation of the employees' performance based on the achievements during fiscal 2017/2018 in terms of reducing cost, increasing profits, financial abundance, creativity, development, and additional responsibilities. He disclosed employees who will not receive the incentive bonus this year include those who failed to abide by the plans, those who received written warnings and took sick leaves.
On the other hand, the source said the salaries of oil sector employees for the month of June will be deposited to their bank accounts in the middle of next month on the occasion of Eid Al- Fitr. Meanwhile, the Director of the Technical Supervision Department and Head of the Gulf Campaign for the Rationalization of Power Consumption, Iqbal Al-Tayyar said the Ministry of Electricity and Water in cooperation with the Technology Company of the Kuwait Investment Authority and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs launched a pilot project and converted 3 mosques into what she called 'smart' places of worship using the latest technology that rationalizes power supply, reports Al- Jaridah daily.
She noted the readings and measurements of these mosques after the installation of this technology saves approximately 19,539 dinars annually. Al-Tayyar told the daily the company has successfully installed modern technology in these mosques. These technologies include a timer that controls the operation of lighting hours inside the mosque, controls the thermostat systems and controls the temperature inside mosques, in addition to putting the solar panels which are placed on the roofs of the mosques with the use of sensors.
The use of greywater from ablution and recycling has also been successful in irrigation, washing of external fountains of mosques, the replacement of lamps in the mosques, turning them into LEDs and installing water filters inside the mosques. Al-Tayyar pointed to the importance of using this technology which has saved a lot of money for the ministry and that plans are to use this technology in the rest of the mosques all over the country which are estimated to be about 1,500. The generalization of this successful experiment on mosques will save about KD 600,000 which is a big sum of money.
