Oman- Voluntary group provides 500 iftar meals in Al Misfah

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- To promote the spirit of love, tolerance and appreciation, Fahaddath voluntary group has launched its Ramadan initiative under the slogan 'Let us serve them for one day'.

The team prepared 500 iftar meals and served them at the workers' quarters in Al Misfah in the wilayat of Bausher on Monday. According to Ahmed Said al Hosni, leader of the group, every Monday and Wednesday, the group hopes to prepare about 500 iftar meals and distribute them to the elderly, taxi drivers and some female boarding students of Higher College of Technology in Al Khuwayr.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Hosni said, 'We started distributing iftar meals in 2015 in Muscat. The group comprises nine Omani youth, and 150 volunteers.'

He added, 'We have started this year's campaign by giving iftar meals to Muslim and non-Muslim cleaners in recognition of their work. We cooperate with some Omani families in preparing the meals.'

Hosni said the group looks to promote and disseminate the culture and spirit of volunteerism in the community.

'Our goals vary depending on the campaigns that we are engaged in. We seek to build a family of volunteers through cooperation and tolerance, involving children with us in work and instilling the love of volunteering in them. We thank all those who participate in these charitable initiatives. A volunteer must have a sincere intention and determination to succeed in achieving his goal.'
