New carpet weaving brand to appear in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani carpets are one of the branches of the carpet art of the East. It is impossible to describe the Azerbaijani carpet in two words. This is a whole artistic work, in which the multicolored nature of the ancient eastern state is imprinted: the celestial blue, forest greens, the whiteness of snowy mountain peaks and the velvet emerald shadow of the thickets on the slopes.

The art of Azerbaijani carpet weaving originated in ancient times, as is known from the monuments of literature and archaeological research. Carpet weaving of Azerbaijan is the oldest kind of decorative art, which was praised in folklore, classical literary and historical works.

There are different carpet weaving enterprises in Azerbaijan and a new brand 'Azerbaijan Carpet will appear in Azerbaijan.

The announcement was made during an expanded meeting of the Board of the country's Economy Ministry.

'The construction of carpet enterprises in ten regions has already been completed with the aim of developing carpet making, which is one of the traditional industries in our country. Currently, work is underway on the construction of ten more enterprises, and five terminals of supply of wool and dyes, and it is planned to commission these enterprises by the end of 2018. The construction of a wool dyeing factory, the foundation of which was laid by the head of state at the end of 2017 in the Sumgayit Chemical and Industrial Park, will be completed in 2019, said the ministry.

Minister Shahin Mustafayev gave instructions on accelerating the implementation of the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Economy in the State Program for the Protection and Development of Carpet Art in Azerbaijan for 2018-2022 approved by the decree of the head of state on February 28, 2018, on the creation and promotion of the 'Azerbaijan Carpet brand in foreign markets.

There are seven carpet weaving schools in Azerbaijan by geographical distinction, compositions, production techniques: Guba, Baku, Shirvan, Ganja, Gazakh, Karabakh, Tabriz schools.

In November 2010, Azerbaijani carpets were included in the list of 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO.
