Zimbabwe's Mnangagwa sacks minister Shamu


(MENAFN) Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa was declared to have sacked Webster Shamu from his position as Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province.

The announcement has been made in a statement by principal director in the Ministry of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Regis Chikowore and reported by The Herald newspaper.

Chikowore stated "the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda, has announced the removal of Honorable Webster Shamu by His excellency the President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, from office of Minister of State for Provincial Affairs for Mashonaland West Province."

Shamu is the first minister to be stripped from his post ever since the Zimbabwean president was elected last November.
