Shania Twain: voting for Trump remark not 'representative of my value'


(MENAFN) Canadian singer Shania Twain expressed regrets over a statement, confirming she would have casted a vote for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

Speaking to the Guardian, the singer said she valued the sincerity of President Trump, receiving a hostile response on social media.

The musician said "I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest," noting "do you want straight or polite?"

She later released an apology statement when hit with criticism, pointing out that the remarks were not "representative of my values".
