Kuwaiti PM receives Qatari counterpart

(MENAFN) On Monday, Kuwaiti Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received at the airport Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, KUNA reported.

The reception was also attended by Assistant Foreign Minister and Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's office director Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocols Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran, Director of the GCC affairs department, Ambassador Nasser Hajji Al-Muzain and Foreign Ministry senior officials.

In early June, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain severed diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar, accusing Doha of supporting terrorism and destabilizing the Middle East, while Qatar, denied the accusations, describing attempts to diplomatically isolate it as a violation of international law and its national sovereignty.

Kuwait has been trying to mediate in solving the "Gulf crisis" as the part which did not appear to take any sides in the issue.
