(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has become one of the countries where the growth in the value of nationality was most noticeable over the past year: it moves up 19 positions (from 99th to 80th) in the Quality of Nationality Index (QNI).
The ranking has been published on The Henley & Partners research company site on Friday.
"On April 20, 2018, the updated Quality of Nationality Index (The Henley & Partners - Kochenov Quality of Nationality Index, QNI), which demonstrates an objective assessment of citizenship of different countries. Experts ranked 209 nationalities on different indicators for the period from 2013 to 2017," the report said.
In 2017, for the first time in last five years, France was ranked first (81.7%). Germany - the leader of last year's ratings moved down to second place (81.6%). The top 10 remained practically unchanged: Iceland, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Ireland, Switzerland, Austria. The only change is that Ireland replaced in the top ten Spain, which moved to 11th position. Afghanistan (14.6%) and Somalia (13.4%) end the list.
Russia showed the best result among the CIS countries. Georgia and Ukraine became the countries where the growth in the value of nationality was most noticeable over the past year. The countries moved up in the ranking by 20 and 19 positions respectively. The main reason is establishment of the visa-free regime with the European Union member states, the report says.
