Pakistan- Another transgender shot dead in Peshawar

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: A eunuch along with his friend was shot dead by unidentified armed men on Ring Road in the limits of Faqirabad Police Station in Peshawar on Tuesday.
Police said the eunuch and his friend Aizaz were travelling in a rickshaw when armed men on a motorbike opened fire on them.
Police has filed a case and started search for the killers. The motive behind the killing was not clear.
Transgenders have come under attack several times in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Peshawar, during the last few years. Trans Action Pakistan says it was the 55th murder of transgenders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since January, 2015.
The transgender community has launched several protests in the past asking the government to provide security to them. However, most transgenders still remain at risk from abusers and they have no security in any part of the country.
