New Delhi, Mar 22 (KNN) Industrial sector comprising of a fair share of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are suffering from power tariff related concerns.

Commenting over the issue, Badish Jindal, President of Federation of Small Scale Industries Association (FOPSIA) said, 'We are feeling cheated. Earlier, we were charged not more than Rs 8.80 per unit but now, after subsidized tariff, it has gone up. The government has made a fool of us.

Jindal further told that for his unit, which has 90 KW load, the tariff came out to be Rs 9.77 per unit while for Kulwant Singh, president of Machine Tool Association, Punjab, the tariff came out to be Rs 12 per unit.

Commenting on Industrial power tariff which comprises of two components fixed total charges and actual consumption Jindal said that it has become difficult for the industrialist to do the calculation as no break-up of fixed charges and actual consumption has been clearly defined to us.

A group of industrialists also met Paramjeet Singh, chief engineer at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Wednesday morning and lodged their protest. (KNN/YV)
