China receives more tourists during holiday


(MENAFN) Around 287 million tourists have visited China during the first four days of the week-long Chinese Lunar New Year holiday, an 11.1 percent increase from the same period last year.

According to the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), tourism revenue increased 11.6 percent to 352.7 billion Yuan within the first four days.

About 73 million tourist trips were made in the country on Sunday, increasing 15.3 percent, while tourism revenue increased 16.6 percent to 94.4 billion Yuan.

Around 385 million tourists are expected to travel around the country during the holiday from Feb. 15 to 21, an increase of 12 percent.
