Pakistan- Two more 'facilitators' of Agricultural Training Institute arrested


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 16 February: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have arrested two more facilitators of the militants' attack on Agricultural Training Institute, Peshawar, officials said here on Friday.

'The accused Awais Khan and Saadullah had facilitated the executors of the Dec 1 attack. They had been arrested on the basis of intelligence information,' a CTD official said.

The counter terrorism police has already arrested two alleged facilitators of the attack including one Muhammad Yasir, who hails from the Bajaur tribal agency. Yasir was arrested from the Larrama village, an outskirt area of the provincial metropolis. He had allegedly provided transport and other facilities to the militants on the day of the attack. Another facilitator had reportedly been arrested in January.

At least nine people including eight students were killed and more than 30 wounded when three burqa-clad militants stormed the hostel of the Agricultural Training Institute situated opposite to the Islamia College Peshawar on the main University road on Dec 1, 2017.

All the three attackers were killed in a swift and timely action by police and army. Security officials had said that the attackers were handled from neighboring Afghanistan.
