Exports of Malaysia surge in 2017
(MENAFN) The Malaysian government said exports has surged 18.9 percent on-year to RM935.39 billion last year, which is the strongest growth since 2005.
The yearly growth was due to the electrical and electronics (E&E) sector, which expanded 19.2 percent on-year.
The country's exports of manufactured products in 2017 increased 18.9 percent on-year; mining products increased by 23.9 percent while agriculture products by 10.9 percent.
Generally, Malaysia's imports expanded 19.9 percent on-year to RM838.14 billion last year, as its surplus widened by 10.3 percent to RM97.25 billion.
