Indian security tightened ahead of controversial film 'Padmaavat' release
(MENAFN) India has stiffened its security in some areas prior to a Bollywood film screening which citizens have been aggressively protesting over for months.
Several states have already witnessed cinemas banning the release of the controversial film Padmaavat.
The film was accused by Hindu groups to be disrespectful of their culture as it follows a romance story between a Hindu queen and a Muslim king.
Violent protests have erupted in India to prevent the release of the film as vehicles were set on fire and cinemas were attacked in a number of states.
