Jordan, Algeria sign 7 agreements to promote bilateral cooperation
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Algeria, Jan. 17 (Petra) -- Jordan and Algeria, on Wednesday signed the minutes of the eighth session of Joint Jordanian-Algerian Committee, in addition to seven agreements of cooperation in the fields of industry, mining, trade, public works, transport, youth, sports and culture.
The minutes were signed by Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Qudah and Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Youcef Yousfi.
Qudah hailed the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and Algeria and said the Kingdom has a firm will to activate mechanisms of cooperation between public and private institutions in both countries, with the aim of providing broad prospects for strengthening bilateral relations to achieve common interests, and intensifying contacts and consultations between senior officials of both countries.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining constant meetings of the Joint Committee and the sectoral committees, as well as following up on the implementation of agreements concluded between the two parties in all fields.
Jordan is looking forward to activating and boosting economic cooperation with Algeria in the light of the opportunities available in both countries.
Minister Yousfi lauded his country's relations with Jordan and underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in all economic, scientific, natural and human resources fields.
Both countries signed agreements and memoranda of understanding in the fields of consumer protection, combat of fraud, control of goods and services, industrial zones, health, roads and bridges and shipping.
