Pakistan- Stone Crushing plants owners threaten protest if crackdown continue

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DI KHAN: Stone Crushing Plants union in Dera Ismail Khan has threatened government to launch protest drive if it did not stop action against illegal plants.

The provincial government has launched a crackdown against illegal stone crushing plants. Talking to media persons after a meeting between owners of plants from Southern districts of KP, union president Haji Dil Jan said that crushing plants were being sealed after Environmental Protection Plants refused issuance of license.

He said that such plants were operational in Punjab without any license but the anti-workers policies of KP would deprive thousands of labourers jobless in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He claimed that they were following guidelines of EPA regarding environmental protection but even then the owners were not being given license.

Assistant Commissioner Zubair Niazi said that crushing plants were sealed for violation of environmental protection laws.
