Qatar's role in Darfur stability praised


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Sudanese State Minister at the Ministry of Industry Dr Abdo Dawood Suleiman has praised the role of Qatar in establishing lasting peace in the Darfur region of Sudan through the Doha Peace Agreement. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Sudanese minister said that the relations between the two countries were characterised by the contributions of the two countries in various fields, pointing out that the Qatari investments boosted the economic stability in the country by diversity in the fields of construction and upgrading of service and agricultural facilities.
He said that the Doha peace agreement played a major role in achieving sustainable peace and stability in Darfur. The Qatari efforts went beyond the scope of the peace process by supporting the programmes on the ground with generous contributions, he said.
