Birla Public School celebrates Qatar National Day

Birla Public School celebrated Qatar National Day with great warmth and joy in the presence of parents, staff, students and special guests from the Museum of Islamic Art.

Students took out a serpentine processional parade led by the school band and bearers of ‘One Love', iconic symbol of Qatari hospitality to millions of expatriates living in Qatar.

The parade started with a solemn salute which Salem Al Sawad, Deputy Director at Museum of Islamic Art along with Lukose Chacko, chairman, Gope Shahani, Vice-Chairman, Principal A P Sharma and others senior officials. Linda Lukose, head girl, read out the pledge, ‘Long live Qatar, Long Live the Emir, Long Live Father Emir, we love Qatar which the whole school repeated resoundingly.

Salem Al Aswad, chief guest, recalled the services rendered by Indians serving Qatar in various service sectors saying, 'Service rendered by Indian people in Qatar is remarkable and you contributed greatly in building our nation.

Abdullah Al Dowsari, head of visitors ‘services, MIA was the guest of honour.

Wishing the gathering and the state of Qatar ‘happy national day' Lukose Chacko, chairman, board of directors, mentioned in gratitude to Qatar, ‘We are privileged to live in this beautiful country and we are grateful to the people, the emir and the country. I do not think that there is any other place in the world where expatriate people can lead their life in such international standards. We feel very safe and comfortable to live, to work, and to study in this very hospitable country thanks to the benevolent rulers the open heartedly great people of this country.

He assured the state that 'we reaffirm that we will serve this country with truth and loyalty and express our unconditional solidarity with the people of Qatar under all the circumstances whatever they may be.

Principal A P Sharma welcoming the guests paid rich tributes to the rulers of Qatar, its people and complimented them for their great hospitality.

He thanked the state and its rulers for giving the expats a most safe place in the world to work and live and paid for the health and happiness of all especially the royal family.

The school also presented a cultural programme in tune with the theme of the Qatar National Day celebrations and feted the audience for an hour.

The take home part of the show was that even the distinguished guests joined the children on the stage performing a Qatari dance eulogizing the Emir.
