SF Express to build Asia's first freight airport in Hubei

(MENAFN- Asia Times) SF Express, one of China's delivery services giants, is working with the Hubei provincial government to build a civil transport airport in Ezhou city, which will be the first freight airport in Asia, reported.

The airport's priority is to meet the growing need of air express transit operations, while taking into consideration the traditional air cargo business.

Shenzhen SF Taisen Co. Ltd., the wholly-owned subsidiary of SF Express, Hubei Provincial Transport Investment Group and Shenzhen Nongyin Airport Investment Co. Ltd. have all signed a contract to set up a joint venture to serve as the legal representative of the project.

The airport is expected to handle 2.45 million tonnes of cargo every year and up to 1 million trips annually by 2025.
