Pakistan- Govt starts talks with opposition parties on Fata Reforms Bill


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday started negotiation with opposition parties demanding merger of Fata with Khyber Pakthunkhwa in particular and implemented of Fata Reforms Bill in general.

The talks were held on the third day of opposition parties' boycott from the National Assembly's proceedings after the government removed Fata Reforms bill from the assembly agenda.

The committee representing the government comprised of Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab met with Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah, Naveed Qamar and Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao.

Khurshid Shah said that government has added to its own problems for not tabling the bill in NA to which Speaker Sadiq said that the PM has convened a meeting of all parliamentary leaders on Friday to discuss the issue.

He urged all members of NA to come to the assembly and avoid walkout however the opposition leader replied that no opposition member would attend the setting unless the government allay their concerns.
