Lactalis recalls baby milk

(MENAFN) Lactalis, the maker of French baby formula has issued an international recall of the product, due to fears of salmonella infectivity.

According to French health authorities, about 26 babies in the country have become sick since the beginning of the month.

The recall includes several products of baby milk powder, in countries such as China, Suda, Britain, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

A company spokesman said that "nearly 7,000 tonnes" of production may have been infected, while the company thinks the outbreak of the salmonella can be caused by a tower used to dry out the milk powder at its factory in northwest France.
