(MENAFN) Amid China infuriated response to US warships planned visit to Taiwan, tensions in Asia have become more intense.
Chinese diplomat Li Kexin reportedly said during an embassy event in the US "the day that a US Navy vessel arrives in Kaohsiung, is the day that our People's Liberation Army unites Taiwan with military force."
The outrage follows US Congress acceptance of a legislation that gives consent to US and Taiwanese naval ships and military officials to visit territories of each other, as reported by Taiwan News.
