Six injured in Abu Dhabi hotel room fire


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Civil Defence teams in Abu Dhabi have rescued 9 people from a fire that broke out in a hotel on Monday.

According to a statement issued by the Abu Dhabi Police, six sustained minor injuries in the fire that broke out in a bedroom on the 14th floor. They were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

Brigadier Mohammed Maiouf Al Kitbi, Director General of the General Department of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi, said the blaze was limited to the living room and corridor.

Firefighters contained the fire and preventing it from spreading to other rooms, in turn saving many lives.

"The cause of the fire is not yet ascertained, and investigations are ongoing", he added.
