Arab coalition refutes alleged attack on house Yemen's Sa'dah

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Aug 8 (KUNA) -- The Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen denied recent press reports that its warplanes attacked a house in Mahdana area, west Sa'dah city, northwest Yemen.

The urgent probes, that followed the emergence of reports on the Friday military operations, showed that the allegations are totally untrue, spokesman of the coalition Group Captain Staff Turki Al-Malki said in a press release late Monday night.

No attacks targeted the area in question, he affirmed.

Al-Malki regretted that the United Nations Resident Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen made inaccurate comments in this regard without "objective probes or field assessments." "The military operations of the coalition are conducted in close coordination and information sharing with the legitimate authorities in Yemen as well as international partners," he noted.

The coalition forces take stock of the tactics of the Houthi militias to hide weapons and ammunitions and conduct hostilities in residential areas, which regrettably result in inevitable loss of civilian lives.

The coalition forces abide by the provisions of the international humanitarian law and Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions the Geneva Conventions, including articles 51 and 52 relating to protection of civilian population trapped in armed conflicts, he added. (end) mdm.gb
