Major firms aim Saudi-Egypt power grid link deal


(MENAFN) Eight main players in the power sector have showed their technical offers for a power grid link between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Additionally, the list involves Saudi Arabia's NCC, Korean group Hyundai, India's Kalpatru Power Transmission and KEC Intl and China's State Grid Corp and Energy China.

Meanwhile, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will be joined by land cables, in addition to a submarine cable of 500 kV, which will cross the Gulf of Aqaba at a length of 16km.

Moreover, three firms presented their technical offers for elect switches, in which the Saudi side will take over the examination of bids and will contract with the winning firm.
