(MENAFN) After French candidate, Emmanuel Macron, slammed France"s colonization of Algeria describing it as war crime against humanity, Algeria's foreign minister has praised the presidential candidate calling him a "friend".
The French presidential frontrunner uttered the remarkable comments during a visit to Algeria last February, he added that the France"s colonization of Algeria was "totally barbaric".
Consequently, Algerian Foreign Minister praised Macron saying "he is our friend... he's a friend of Algeria and that's the truth".
It"s worth mentioning that Macron, the 39-year-old former economy minister, has bigger change to win next month's presidential election than far right leader Marine Le Pen.
