Italy's industrial turnover, orders grow in December


(MENAFN) The Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) reported that Italian industrial turnover and orders posted a significant growth in December 2016, over the previous month, as it increased by 2.6% and new orders by 2.8% over November.

On the other hand, the increase was largest on foreign markets by 5.4%, compared to the domestic market by 1.1%, while new orders grew by 6.8% on the domestic market and dropped by 2.6% on non-domestic ones.

All Italian manufacturing sectors grew in terms of turnover in December 2016, comparing to the same period in the previous year, with the highest increase recorded for electrical equipment by 21.9%.

On the contrary, the only decline registered was at the mining and quarrying sub-sector by 7.9%.
