China's Hubei to shut all coal mines amid two years


(MENAFN) China's central province of Hubei aims to shut all of its coal mines among two years while enhancing the use of cleaner-burning natural gas and renewable energy.

Moreover, the province closed surplus coal mining capacity of 10.11mn tons last year.

Last year, the province also reduced 3.38mn tons of steel production capacity, in addition to removing 4.16mn tons of steel-making capacity.

Additionally, it also plans to add 300 kilometers of natural gas pipelines and install 1mn kilowatts of power generation capacity fueled by new energies this year.
