Qatar Will Continue Improving Workers' Conditions HE Minister Says


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha May 01 (QNA) - HE Minister of Administrative Development Labor and Social Affairs Dr. Eissa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said today that the State of Qatar under the leadership of HH the Emir is always working on improving legislations to improve the work environment and maintain the stability and dignity of all working people.
His Excellency noted that the State of Qatar has already made noticeable progress in terms of protecting the rights of foreign workers in the country. HE the Minister added that Qatar will continue enhancing the rights of workers stressing on their pivotal role in development.
HE the Minister a speech during the ministry's celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work. His Excellency praised companies and institutions that are committed to maintaining the rights of its workers in accordance to the laws of the country.
His Excellency highlighted some of the praise the State of Qatar received for its effort for improving the conditions of workers. The latest of those efforts was to produce new legislation to guarantee the protection of workers' wages. The total number of workers who benefited from the law was 1.3 million HE the Minister said.
Other initiatives were related to issuing legislations regarding the standards of housing for workers. The standards looked to satisfy criterion pertaining to health and recreation. (QNA)
