US Aecom plans USD1b Rawabi city in Palestine

(MENAFN) Aecom, the US-based management firm, announced the unprecedented planning of the first city in Palestine, dubbed Rawabi and with a value of USD1 billion, Arabian Business reported.
The whole scheme for the city involves housing, retail, and leisure facilities, two mosques, a church, an infirmary, a cinema, and an amphitheater for international music acts.
Aecom is a global provider of professional technical and management support services to a broad range of markets, including transportation, facilities, environmental, energy and government.
"I feel it is important as I believe 100% that if we cannot overcome the political issues surrounding developing Palestine in this project, then we will never develop anything," an official statement said.
