ME carriers register 11.4 percent passenger growth in January


(MENAFN) An increasing number of passengers are continuing to choose Middle East carriers for international travel, according to January figures from International Air Transport Association (IATA), Gulf News reported.

Middle East airlines registered an increase of 11.4 percent in international passenger traffic growth in January when compared to the same month a year ago. It was the strongest growth figures out of all regions. Capacity among the carriers increased 13.3 percent and load factor dipped 1.3 percentage points to 79.7 percent.

The global growth average was 5.4 percent, while global capacity grew 6 percent and load factor dipped 0.5 percentage points to 78 percent.
